Oh my word! I don’t know how I turned into such a steak snob, but I have. And, this is coming from a girl who thoroughly enjoyed 4 months of VEGAN eating prior to getting married. Honestly, I just love food. PERIOD
I used to get grossed out when steak was bloody at all. I’d always order it medium well. At some point, my husband must have gotten me to try a bite of his medium….er…medium rare and I LOVED it!
As you know if you’ve been reading for some time, we buy our beef and pork in family packages from a local farmer. Meat does not get better than grass fed, local, and organic. One of the perks of buying part of an entire cow is that you get amazing cuts of steak for much less than you would at the grocery store. Tonight, we had beef fillet steaks. Around 10 AM, I threw them in a glass dish, coated with McCormicks Grill Mates Montreal Steak Seasoning and some liquid aminos. Cooked them in a skillet around 5:30 and they were seriously the most amazing steaks EVER!!! Unfortunately, I didn’t measure anything, so just wing it. If you have a good cut of steak, you don’t need too much of either and remember, the liquid aminos flavor is pretty strong. I probably only used a teaspoon for each small steak.
ENJOY!
Oh – PS. I served this with a bunch of fresh fruits and veggies for my family and with an entire sauteed yellow squash for myself. Yeah….I can throw down a ton of squash. Healthy eating doesn’t have to be hard or involve a ton of skilled cooking. Olive oil and salt are all I put on my squash and my family loved the fresh cucumber, carrots, and cantaloupe.

Nisha,
People are always so surprised after having organic. We are so used to heavy chemical laden poison, that when we eat something the way it is just suppose to be, we get overjoyed!
