How to Choose a Blender: Blendtec Value!

We’ve always been a smoothie drinking family and have more recently gotten in to green smoothies. I have been thinking about getting a Blendtec for about three or so years now…ever since our Magic Bullet died. I remember sitting at the family’s house where I babysat all through college and my husband seeing a commercial for a Magic Bullet for the first time. He was so excited to get one and did so shortly thereafter. That Magic Bullet treated us well for quite a few years, but once it broke and we grew our family, our experiences with blenders all went downhill. As you can see in the picture, we should have gotten a Blendtec the second that Magic Bullet diet.
blender comparison blendtecI am going to have my husband double check this image later because I feel like I’m forgetting ANOTHER blender.  I didn’t even include all the “food choppers” we’ve gone through over the years.  I am so excited about the Blendtec.  I drink at least one smoothie a day and now prepping it just got a whole lot easier!  I’ve only had the Blendtec for a couple days and Adam is actually the one who has been using it (despite him not being too happy with me for buying it without talking to him about it – OOPS!).  I’m going to make my first GREEN smoothie with it tomorrow and I’m trying potato soup later this week.  Potato soup is the one recipe (other than smoothies) that I use my immersion blender for most.

Stay tuned for more details and recipes as we give our new Blendtec a warm welcome to the family this week!  Do you have a Blendtec?  If so, what is your favorite thing to make in it.  If you don’t have a Blendtec, what kind of blender do you have?  Do you like it?

I have a Blendtec! A better question is what I DON’T make in it :)
Of course I use it to make fruit smoothies, green smoothies, and protein shakes. I grind wheat in it too. Yesterday I used it to shred chicken and added bbq sauce to make burritos. Turned out great!

LOVE my Blendtec! Justin took our KitchenAid to work (the one I said he could take to work that finally gave me the excuse to buy the Blendtec) and while the KitchenAid is okay, he complains that nothing compares to the Blendtec. The reason why I purchased it over the Vitamix is because it is a local company and I got 2 pitchers for the same price as the Vitamix with 1. We use both – ALL of the time. We’ve had ours since December (I think) and it is well over the 500 use mark. LOVE LOVE! Enjoy your new machine!

I LOVE my Blendtec. I am over 1200 uses and use for everything. Onr thing that suprises people is the pizza dough recipe you can make in it. It is awesome. I uses the one from the book but with a few changes( 1/2 whole wheat flour) It is so easy and good. It true what don’t you use it for…….
